Amanda Reed as Hepzibah Green
Amanda Reed was born and bred in Birmingham. She moved to Lichfield when she was aged 7 and at 11 she attended The Friary Girls' School where she landed her first stage role as Ariel in The Tempest. She later moved to beautiful Shropshire, where she spent most of her life. Following two successful careers as a teacher (9 years) and a financial consultant (11 years) She graduated relatively late in life from Birmingham School of Acting in 2002.
Amanda played Mrs Lintott in the National Theatre’s production of Alan Bennett’s The History Boys (Wyndhams). Other West End credits include Alan Bennett's Enjoy (Gielgud) and When we Are Married (Garrick). Other theatre credits include Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest (Frankfurt), Abby Brewster in Arsenic and Old Lace (Vienna), Dolly Messiter in Brief Encounter (UK Tour), Florence Boothroyd in Billy Liar (Croydon), Doll Common in Playhouse Creatures (Landor), Nanny Ogg in Wyrd Sisters (Upstairs at the Gatehouse).
December 2012 saw her first TV appearance in the BBC’s Doctors. Feature film credits include Horace
K48 (2014) and The Warehouse (2013). Other film credits include Position Filled (Hi-Gloss), The Real Men in Black (New Moon), The Naked Lunch (Cool Hill), Hearing Things (Fat Cat), The Spotter (LFA) to name but a few
Amanda is delighted to be playing Hepzibah Green in Carrie's War - a book she read to her own children and to a class of 11 year olds in her first teaching job. She lives in Wimbledon, London – home of Championship Tennis and Wombles.
